Special Libraries Association (SLA) & SLA Pittsburgh Chapter
In 2017, I joined the Special Library Association (SLA) as part of my professional development activities for my tenure with the RAND Corporation. I was a student member during graduate school and familiar with Pittsburgh’s active SLA Chapter.
From 2017-21, I held positions as member, Web Manager, and Secretary in the SLA Pittsburgh Chapter. I was awarded the 2019 Promising Professional Award by the SLA Pittsburgh Chapter Cabinet.
➜ Chapter Web Manager
In 2018, I accepted the position of Chapter Web Manager. My primary responsibility was to maintain a WordPress site created for Pittsburgh Chapter members as a Content Manager. In addition to general maintenance, I resolved broken links and added new content whenever necessary.
In early 2019, the WordPress site was replaced by a new Community microsite hosted on the Higher Logic platform. As the primary Community Admin and Chapter Web Manager, I coordinated the design, layout, and hierarchy of the information presented on the Chapter’s new microsite:
From 2019-23, I managed content migration, upkeep, and development of the Higher Logic site.

➜ Chapter Secretary
In 2019, I accepted the position of Chapter Member Secretary for a 2-year term. ⁎
I recorded notes during regularly scheduled Chapter Board Meetings. All PDFs of meeting agendas & notes were uploaded to the Chapter website to ensure information was posted in an accurate and timely manner. I also served on the Executive Board in this position.
